The Burke Lockable Dowel from Meadow Burke has revolutioned the post tension concrete process. Designed for use at temporary movement joints, found in post-tensioned concrete frames (slab-to-wall or slab-to-slab), the Burke Lockable Dowel is a shear load connector comprising of dowel, sleeve and locking components.
When installed across a joint in a post-tensioned floor slab, the dowel and sleeve transfers vertical loads across the joint but allows concrete shrinkage to take place. After a curing period, the dowel can be locked in place using the locking plate and resin to control any further movement in the plane of the slab.
