Smooth Dowel
Smooth dowels are used in concrete to provide proper load transfer across the joint to prevent the slab from lifting or sinking and spalling at the joint. The dowel maintains vertical alignment across the joint while allowing horizontal moment as the concrete slabs expand and contract with changes in temperature.
